40" stove boards are offered as Type 1 (ember protection only) These are built with a heavy duty 1" steel frame, automotive type e-coat paint process for frame, 1/2" non-combustible (per E136) substrate, and many more benefits and features of this stove board. 48" stove boards are offered as Type 2 (ember protection and thermal protection) r-vale of 1.08 required by many wood burning stoves. These are built with a 1.5" heavy duty extruded alumunum frame, automotive type e-coat paint process for frame, 1/2" non-combustible (per E136) substrate, and an additional 1/2" of Micore 300 under the complete hearth pad provides the ultimate thermal protection as well as 100% support for the entire stove board. Additional features/benefits - on removal of carpeting required, only non-combustible materials used, tested to most recent standard dated January 31,2011, can be installed on riser for installations that require additional thermal protection.
